It has been a long time since I tried new makeup, but my momma visited the USA a few weeks ago and got me many things I wanted to try for a long time. One of the things I didn't ask for was this palette, so I was really surprised when she gave it to me and I couldn't be any more happy, as the huge Kat Von D fan and supporter I have been since her tattoo artist days. This is the Shade + Light Eye Contour Quad in Rust and I am in love with it.
The packaging is really cute, resembling a tiny coffin with her signature font. This quad has four warm toned that are highly pigmented. The formula of these eyeshadows is the same one she uses with all her powder products and now I can understand all the hype around them. The formula is extremely soft and pigmented, I couldn't believe how great they were when I swatched them for the first time. The shadows are extremely buttery and they almost feel like a cream when you touch them. They do kick on a little bit more powder that I would like to, so I guess you can get through it faster than with regular shadows, but once on the eyes, they don't have any fallout and blend perfectly.
It has three matte shades, the base shade (pink), the contour shade (orangey brown) and the defining shade (dark brown). The highlight shade (white) is shimmery but not overwhelming, you can easily use it for all over the lid and pass as a matte shadow. In the swatch, the first and the last shade don't pop like the other ones because my skintone is similar but they are as pigmented as the other two shades.
