The Beauty Lover Tag

viernes, 15 de julio de 2016

I know in this media most people love makeup and I am no exception and I’ve seen many post of people doing this tag and I couldn’t pass the oportunity to do it as well and share it with you, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it, so here we go!

If you could have anyone in the world do your makeup, who would it be?
This one is so easy, I would love to have Linda Hallberg doing my makeup, if she isn’t the ultimate makeup goddess I don’t know who is.

What’s your top makeup tip?
I love ‘priming’ my lips. When I am using a regular lipstick (by that I mean that it’s not a liquid lipstick), I use a lipstain of the same color before, and once it sets I apply the lipstick. It’s a great way of having your lipstick lasting all day, and if it fades, you’ll always have a more subtle version of it instead of color patches.

What one skincare item could you not live without?
I am not a huge ‘branded’ skincare fan, I must admit I go pretty hardcore when it comes to skincare. Retinol is my go-to for taking care of acne, wrinkles, scars and everything else. It can cause your skin to dry and peel as hell and it can also be painful, I just make sure I moisturize enough. Also, don’t get ripped off, don’t buy those $100 USD retinol serums from Sephora when you can get them at your local pharmacy for less than $20.

What are you worst at when it comes to applying makeup?
Fake eyelashes. I don’t ever use them, and when I try to apply them, the glue always gets all over my lids. I always (always) end up looking like Yzma.

What’s your biggest pet peeve when it comes to beauty?
Oh, well, my biggest pet peeve is somehow a little contradictory. I think everyone should wear what they want and what makes them feel beautiful and comfortable in their skin, but I don’t really like when girls wear a super glammed up full face of makeup with fake eyelashes and extreme structure changing contouring every single day just because it is ‘trendy’, if you want to do it, do it for yourself, not because someone else is doing it, which seems to be becoming more common recently.

What’s your favourite makeup era?
The 40s and 50s for sure! I love some eyeliner with bright lipstick, even if I don’t recreate that look as often, I love pinup makeup in general.

What’s your guilty pleasure product?
MeNow liquid lipsticks, I love them, I love the smell, the pigmentation and the lasting power, but I know many people actually hate them because the formula is quite thick and feels a little heavy, drying and sticky on the lips, but I don’t know, they last forever on me, I quite like them.

What’s your ‘underdog’ product?
Maybe my Forever Flawless Pressed Powder by Jordana, it has medium coverage and I love using it by itself those days I don’t want to apply foundation. It’s super smooth and blurs imperfections and big pores, also, it’s only $4 USD.

What’s your favourite makeup product of 2015?
Lipstick for sure, last year I got crazy over lipsticks and this year hasn’t changed, I’m also loving highlighter, maybe I’ll do a blogpost on strobing for oily skin, I dunno.

Uff, it was quite long, but I hope you enjoyed this tag! I know this may sound cliché, but I tag everyone who wants to do this, or if you have already done it, I would love to read yours!

  1. I have just come across your blog on a fellow blogger's page, lovely :) Really enjoyed this post & your answers! I must check out Retinol (not sure why I have been postponing my scarring treatment for so long!). Also, Linda is a makeup guru, her tutorials are amazing. Also, I wouldn't say no to Nikki <3 That girl is a wizardess! Loved the tip about lip priming, especially when wearing reds. They are my favourite shades and that's the step that is so important. So yeah, not only fab answers but great pieces of advice, Cynthia!
