When I was younger I refused to pluck my eyebrows even if they were the messiest. And I still kind of do. I know a lot of us suffer when we do it just because it is so painful, and it doesn’t matter how often I do it, I just don’t seem to be getting used to it, so I will be sharing with you a trick I found by accident.
We all know how Carmex is one of the greatest lipcare brands out there, and when I wanted to try some of their products, I just grabbed the first thing I saw and bought it. I got the Everyday Soothing Lip Balm and I started using it religiously but it just didn’t seem to work or moisturize my lips and I just abandoned it.
A year ago, I found it again and decided to read the ingredients to see why it didn’t work when I realized they were all external analgesics, there wasn’t any moisturizer on the list and it just poped out in my head: what if I used it when I pluck my brows?
Here is what I do: before I start plucking my brows, I apply a coat of lipbalm where the hairs are and wait a minute or so, then I start plucking them. The pain doesn’t go completely away, but it diminishes a lot, you can feel when you pull the hair, but the pain and the tearing that comes afterward disappeared for me.
I think this may not work for everybody and depends a lot on your pain threshold, but I hope you can try it out and make the process easier, pain is never fun.
