When it comes to red lipstick, I always tend to go for the darker, richer shades. When I want a brighter lip, I just go for the oranges. Even considering this shades are a little bit dark, I wear them almost every day, all year round.

Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in ‘Monte Carlo’ »
This color is described as a deep cranberry red. I love how deep it is without looking extremely dramatic. It goes on a little sheer at first, but with two layers I am okay to go. This is very matte and I do not find it drying at all. It lasts for a long time, but it can fade if I eat or drink. The only thing I don’t love about this is that it starts looking a little cakey when reapplying it.

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in ‘Standout’ »
I love this Matte Balms in general, they are not drying at all and they glide on like no other matte lipstick. Just as Monte Carlo, this is also a deep shade but the undertone is a little bit warmer. It can stay on my lips all day if I don’t eat or drink immediately after I apply it, after it sets, this does not transfer.

Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in ‘Underage Red’ »
This is a matte lipstick, more of a classic red than the other ones. It is long lasting but it can transfer a little bit when eating or drinking. The packaging and the bullet itself are stunning. The only problem I have with this lipstick is that I like it so much that I barely use it (does this happen to other people?).

LURE True Matte Lipstick in ‘Maroon’ »
Probably my favorite of them all, this is the one I tend to use almost every day.  This is a dark red with warm undertones, it is a little bit drying and the bullet pulls the lips a little while applying it. Apart from that, I find that this has the most amazing staying power. I have used this for 12 hours straight and it looked the same, even after eating and drinking.

Thank you for reading!
