The Reading Habits Tag

sábado, 1 de agosto de 2015

Hello, guys, I saw Beth from Live With B doing this tag and I could not resist to it. I have to admit, my reading habits have been getting really bad since I started going to college, but this vacations I decided do get them back on track.

1. Do you have a certain place at home to read?
If I read at home, 9 out of 10 times I do it on my bed, I can spend all day laying down and reading. That other one time, I am probably reading while eating on the table (sorry, mom).

2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?
I use a beautiful bookmark from The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate (which I haven’t read, by the way) and I use it when I read physical books, in addition to that, I also use post it flags to mark the exact paragraph. But I recently decided that I will only be reading ebooks (to save some trees) which means I don’t use either.

3. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter or a number of pages?
It depends; when I’m on a hurry or the book isn’t too interesting, I just post a flag on the paragraph where I stopped, but if I’m really into the story, the only way for me is stopping after finishing a chapter.

4. Do you eat and drink while reading?
Not that often; sometimes I like drinking tea while reading at night, other times I read while having breakfast, lunch or dinner. Does that count?

5. Do you watch TV or listen to music whilst reading?
Watching TV while reading is an abomination, but I do enjoy listening to music. And not any kind of music, I choose specific songs that create an atmosphere that makes me feel inside of the book, e.g. I love listening to Clint Mansell while reading Lovecraft.

6. One book at a time or several at once?
Sometimes only one, but lately I have been reading two, just because someone told me it was a great brain exercise, but only when the books are not complicated.

7. Reading at home or everywhere?
Everywhere. I read on my iPad mini, which fits perfectly into any purse, so I take it with me all the time and take advantage of any free time to have a good read. But, to be honest, there is no place like home, right?

8. Reading aloud or silently in your head?
Always silently. I did try to read aloud because my grandmother told me that was how she got really good at talking in public and giving speeches, but I couldn’t, it is exhausting.

9. Do you ever read ahead or skip pages?
When I get too excited about what is going to happen I have a little sneak peek. I always regret it because I just get the story spoiled and in the end I read everything anyway. Doesn’t matter how much I try, it always happens.

10. Do you ever write in books?
Not at all, unless they are text books which I’m studying from, in that case, always.

My top book recommendations at the moment are –
♡ Sputnik Sweetheart – Haruki Murakami
♡ The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo – Stieg Larsson
♡ The Martian Chronicles – Ray Bradbury

I tag anyone who loves books.

P.S. Which books are you reading now?
P.S.2. Who can tell what I am reading just by the picture?

Thank you for reading!
